Energy Work Consent and Release Statement

I understand that Reiki is a gentle, hands-on technique that is used for stress reduction and relaxation, and that usually, but not always, helps with healing.

 

I understand that Reiki practitioners do not diagnose conditions, prescribe or perform medical treatment, prescribe substances, nor interfere with the treatment of a licensed medical professional.

 

I understand that Reiki is not a substitute for medical or psychological care, and I understand that I should also see a licensed health care professional for any physical or psychological ailment I may have.

 

I also understand that the body has the ability to heal itself and to do so, complete relaxation is often beneficial.

 

I acknowledge that long-term imbalances in the body sometimes require multiple sessions in order to facilitate the level of relaxation needed by the body to heal itself.

I understand that the practitioner will be placing hands on me during the Reiki Session.

Per California State Law SB 577: Reiki practitioners are not licensed physicians. REIKI is a complement to ‘healing arts services licensed by the state’, i.e., it is a complement to more traditional western medicine provided by doctors, nurses, and hospitals. As a complementary or alternative medicine, REIKI does not require licensing by the State of California.
